COOL News: Robert Roskind's Next Projects
HOLLYWOOD:A HIGHER CALLING
We are also planning our next One Love Concert & Reasoning in Hollywood in 2007. The event will be called Hollywood: A Higher Calling. The event will be a private concert and "reasoning" with invitations to all the top people in Hollywood (actors, director, producers, executives). This free event will include performances by recording artists known for their lifetime message of love as well as addresses from Native American elders, Tibet monks, Mayan elders and other teachers of love. Taj Mahal has agreed to perform. We are also planning to invite the Marley family, Santana, Natalie Merchant, Luciano, Richie Havens, Joan Baez, Michael Franti, Sarah McLachlan, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, and other artists.
We believe that that if well-known recording artists, whose music is loved and whose journey is respected by many in the film and TV industry, extend a private invitation to their counterparts in Hollywood to join them in further devoting their talents and energies to bringing forward a message of love and forgiveness through their work, many will listen and accept their invitation. Indeed, there may be no more effective group to influence this industry - an industry that has such a great impact on molding the consciousness of the people.

COOL Archives: Living Life in Love
If you are here on the planet to become more loving and to evolve spiritually, how does sexuality fit into your picture? In most spiritual traditions, sex has long been held as an obstacle to Enlightenment. It has been seen as something to overcome, to transcend, or to go beyond. Vows of celibacy have often been praised as seekers try to conquer the "burdens" and "illusions" of earthly desires. The underlying and usually unquestioned assumption is that sexual denial eventually leads to Enlightenment.
But isn't Enlightenment the realization that all the Universe is contained within the infinite depths of your Heart? And doesn't all the Universe include your sexuality and your lust? Are you supposed to somehow cast out an integral part of your own humanity in order to become a fully-realized person? Celibacy may occur in a natural, organic way as you embrace all aspects of your sexuality and go through to the other side. But to try to force it upon yourself is destructive. It may be a by-product of your evolution, but it is not the goal.

COOL Archives: Venus
Venus was a major Roman goddess principally associated with love and beauty, the rough equivalent of the Greek goddess Aphrodite. She was considered the ancestor of the Roman people by way of its legendary founder, Aeneas, and played a key role in many Roman religious festivals and myths.
Venus' furor began in Ardea and Lavinium, Latium. On August 18, 293 BC, her oldest-known temple was built, and August 18 became a festival called the Vinalia Rustica. On April 23, 215 BC, a temple was built outside the Colline gate on the Capitol dedicated to Venus to commemorate the Roman defeat at the Battle of Lake Trasimene.
Venus was commonly associated with the Greek goddess Aphrodite and the Etruscan deity Turan, borrowing aspects from each. Additionally, Venus has been compared to Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli in Aztec mythology, Kukulcan in Maya mythology, Frigg and Freyja in the Norse mythos, and Ushas in Vedic religion. Ushas is also linked to Venus by a Sanskrit epithet ascribed to her, vanas- ("loveliness; longing, desire"), which is cognate to Venus, suggesting a Proto-Indo-European link via the reconstructed stem *wen- "to desire."
